Job Description

The Quincy Family Store is seeking candidates to work on the Sales Floor in As Needed (up to 19 hours/week) positions.  

This position is expected to perform all functions of a Sales Floor Clerk.  This includes but is not limited to:

  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Lifting and carry donated/ purchased items
  • Stock and merchandise the different sales areas in the store
  • Operate the cash register

The majority of the work done in the position will be of the physical labor type.  Basic communication and math skills are required.

This job description is not all inclusive.  It is intended to identify the essential duties of the position. Other duties, responsibilities and tasks may be assigned at the discretion of management.

  1. Provide excellent customer service by giving prompt, friendly assistance to meet customer needs in-person and on the phone.
  2. Interact with other staff in a manner which promotes positive relationships.
  3. Maintain the sales floor by stocking racks and shelves with merchandise in accordance with the merchandising guidelines of the store (i.e. colorization, sizing, etc.)
  4. Assist with setting up and maintaining seasonal and promotional displays.
  5. Assist with sales events, promotions, and signage.
  6. Monitor and maintain fitting rooms.
  7. Perform all cashier activities.
  8. Answer store phone to assist customers and inquiries.

Education:  High school/equivalent diploma.

Experience:   One year related work experience or two years’ work experience without diploma.  Combination of education and work experience will be considered.
