Job Description

The Quincy Kroc Center is seeking candidates for a part-time position working 15 hours or less/week.  

The Rock Climbing Wall Attendant is responsible for monitoring, instructing and assisting patrons in the proper and safe use of the rock climbing and bouldering wall at the Kroc Center.  This position will also conduct climbing wall and climbing gear orientation sessions, set new routes, answer patron questions, take hourly counts, inventory equipment, lead rental groups, and assist with preventative maintenance for the wall and its equipment.

This job description is not all inclusive.  It is intended to identify the essential duties of the position. Other duties, responsibilities and tasks may be assigned at the discretion of management.

  1. Serve as the customer service representative for the rock climbing and bouldering wall by answering patrons’ questions regarding equipment, proper techniques, rules and fees.
  2. Belay users, ensure proper rigging and provide safe and proper climbing wall and equipment orientations for Kroc patrons.
  3. Ensure users are wearing appropriate climbing attire and are utilizing all safety equipment appropriately.

Education & Certifications:

  • High school or equivalent diploma is helpful.
  • Possess or obtain CPR, First Aid and AED certifications within 60 days of employment.
  • Belay certification or able to procure by official start date.

Experience:  Previous climbing experience or experience working with a rock climbing wall facility is required.  Previous experience in a customer service role.
