Al Beck Donates 23rd Book to JWCC Library
Al Beck, former John Wood Community College instructor and professor emeritus at Culver-Stockton College, recently donated his 23rd book of poetry, “Spiritual Recovery’s Discovery” to the JWCC library.
“Spiritual Recovery’s Discovery” contains a variety of thoughts, images and emotions as he deals with the recent death of his wife. This book is his most poignant work.
Beck is a creative teacher, artist and writer. His other works of Poetry include “Sense’s Fences’ Consequences”, “Al Beck’s Exuberant Efforts,” and “As Awesome Possum Shares Wild Wisdom.” In 2012 a poem by Beck was included in the International Who’s Who in Poetry and accepted by many national and international creative writing journals and magazines. Beck has been included in the International Biographical Center in England’s 2000 Outstanding Writers of the 20th Century.
In addition to his poetry, Beck has published numerous articles on art education and exhibited artwork international and regionally. He works with diverse media, including clay, papercasting, glass fusion, photography, printmaking, painting and assemblage.
