John Wood Community College’s Randall Egdorf Earns Doctorate

Randall Egdorf of Quincy, department chair and assistant professor of Dr. Randall Egdorfsocial/behavioral sciences programs at John Wood Community College, earned a doctor of philosophy in higher education leadership from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.

Egdorf participated in the December 21, 2013 ceremonies and graduated with highest honors.  His dissertation examined student retention.  His co-dissertation chairs from Iowa State were Dr. Larry H. Ebbers and Dr. Frankie Santo Laanan.

Prior to joining JWCC in 2003 as an associate faculty member, he worked for Quincy University for eight years.  Currently he is vice president of JWCC faculty senate, serves on the executive committee of faculty senate, professional development committee, Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, associate faculty senate committee, and leadership council.

Egdorf holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and speech communications and a master’s degree from University of Illinois at Urbana.
