JWCC HONORS FACULTY AND STAFF OF THE YEAR
John Wood Community College recently announced recipients of the 2013 Faculty and Staff Member of the Year awards. Those honored include the following:
- Full-time Faculty Member of the Year: Todd Saxton of Quincy, English instructor
- Staff Member of the Year: William Hysell of Quincy, campus police officer
- Associate Faculty of the Year: Bev Landis of Quincy, associate faculty in office technology
- Part-time Staff Member of the Year: Anne Scott of Quincy, test room monitor
Saxton joined the College in January 2011 as an English instructor. He earned a master’s degree in English with a writing emphasis from Western Illinois University. Saxton was previously employed by Unity High School as an English teacher and served as a member of JWCC’s associate faculty.
Hysell joined JWCC in 2011 as a campus police officer. In his 49 years of law enforcement experience, Hysell worked for the Hernando County Florida Sherriff’s office and as an investigator for the Texas Attorney General’s Office. He has a bachelor’s degree from Tennessee Christian University and graduated from The National Crime Prevention Institute at the University of Louisville.
Landis has been with the College since 1975 as an administrative assistant and an associate faculty member in the office technology department since 2000. She earned an associate degree from JWCC and a bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois University.
Scott started at the College in 2001 as test room monitor and continues to hold that position.
