First National Bank of Barry Donates $5,000 to JWCC Southeast Education Center

The First National Bank of Barry (FNB) recently donated $5,000 to John Wood Community College’s Serving the Southeast campaign.
The JWCC Foundation fundraising campaign sought to raise $200,000 for equipment, technology and furnishings for a new facility to serve students in the Southeastern portion of its district, which includes Pike County, and portions of Cass, Calhoun, Morgan and Scott counties. The campaign surpassed its goal and raised $215,796 for the new facility, which is located north of the Pittsfield Industrial Park on U.S. Route 54.
“We are proud to support the educational opportunities John Wood provides to the Southeast portion of the district,” said Bob Garner, CEO of FNB. “JWCC’s investment will enrich the lives of individuals and help our communities to grow.”
A check presentation was made to JWCC President Mike Elbe and Barbara Holthaus, executive director of the JWCC Foundation, by Garner and FNB employees Joe Dierker and Coy Bainter.
