JWCC to Provide GED Prep Classes in Quincy, Mt. Sterling and Pittsfield
John Wood Community College will offer the next session of GED prep classes in Quincy, Mt. Sterling and Pittsfield starting October 16. The classes are offered through the JWCC Adult Education program, which helps students prepare for the high school equivalency GED test. The program also provides assistance with career planning and job skills.
The eight-week classes meet in Quincy from 9:00 a.m. to noon, Monday through Thursdays, or 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday evenings. Classes are held at the Kinscherff Learning Center, located on 122 N 5th Street. Pittsfield classes meet from 9:00 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the JWCC Southeast Education Center, located at 39637 260th Avenue in Pittsfield, and Mt. Sterling classes meet from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Mt. Sterling Education Center at 108 N. Capitol Street. Students are required to attend an orientation session prior to beginning class. The orientation session for morning classes in Quincy will be held on Friday, October 13 from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Kinscherff Learning Center. All other orientation sessions will be held the first day of class.
English as a Second Language (ESL) classes will meet on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the Quincy campus located at 1301 N 48th Street, with the next session beginning on Tuesday, Oct 17.
