JWCC to Offer 3-Week, 4-Week and 8-Week Course Sessions this Summer

John Wood Community College will offer three-week and eight-week course sessions this summer for students seeking to get a head start or accelerate completion of a college degree. Students may also combine both sessions to maximize credit opportunities.

The three-week intersession runs from May 20 to June 7, and will offer classroom courses in Introduction to Speech and Introduction to Psychology. The classes will be held Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon. Early registration is encouraged as space is limited.

The eight-week summer session runs from June 10 to August 2, and will offer a variety of classroom, online and open learning courses. Among the online classes offered are Accounting, Astronomy, Biology, Business, Speech, Communication, Computers, Economics, Rhetoric and Composition, Fire Science, History, Humanities, Logistics, Mathematics, Music Appreciation, Philosophy, Psychology, Weather and Climate, Sociology and Spanish. Structured classes will meet Mondays through Thursdays June 10 to August 2. Among the courses offered will be General Biology, Human Anatomy, General Chemistry, Introduction to Speech, United States History, Basic Arithmetic and Pre Algebra, Music Appreciation, American Government and Introduction to Psychology.

Students who have an approved academic plan may register online at www.jwcc.edu or meet with an advisor on a walk-in basis.

Students who want to take a class at JWCC this summer to transfer back to their primary college are encouraged to view the class list on www.jwcc.edu. Prior to registration, those students should talk with the academic advisor at their institution to see which JWCC courses best fit into their plan.
