JWCC Seeking Literacy Volunteers; Training Set for September 21

John Wood Community College’s Literacy Program will offer training to tutor volunteers on Saturday, September 21, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in room D147 of the Quincy campus, located at 1301 South 48th Street.

JWCC is seeking volunteer tutors to help literacy level students learn basic skills that will bring them success. Individuals will learn how to assess learners, set goals and give feedback, plan and organize lessons and recognize specific dynamics of working with adults. 

The training is free to those wishing to become a volunteer tutor, no previous experience necessary. Register by calling 217.641.4153.
