JWCC 12-Week Session Gives Students Another Opportunity to Begin College

John Wood Community College’s 12-week session provides students an additional opportunity to begin classes in the spring semester. Transfer students and adults have the opportunity to start general education classes in developmental math, computers, transportation and occupational internship beginning February 10, which is four weeks after the traditional spring semester.

In addition to the 12-week session, another eight-week online course session will start March 16 as part of the College’s 2x2 program, which allows students to take two classes at a time to complete a degree entirely online. Open learning classes will also be offered in the eight-week format. Classes will include astronomy, environmental conservation, human biology, business, finance, written communications, speech, computer literacy, economics, psychology, rhetoric & composition, western civilization, introduction to film, history, humanities, logistics, technical mathematics, algebra, keyboarding, ethics, weather & climate, and sociology. Basic nurse assisting will be offered in the classroom at the Quincy campus and at the Mt. Sterling Education Center for those interested in pursuing a certified nursing assistant (CNA) certificate.
