JWCC Student Government Elects Officers

The Student Government Association (SGA) of John Wood Community College recently elected officers for the 2025-2026 academic year

Jacob Davis, a graduate of Liberty High School, was elected by the JWCC student body as the College’s new Student Trustee. Davis is pursuing a degree in Agricultural Business with plans to transfer to a four-year university and eventually contribute to the agriculture industry. He recognizes the importance of his role as a liaison and student voice between SGA and the JWCC Board of Trustees, as well as supporting SGA initiatives with the Board. Davis is a recipient of the Trail Blazer Scholarship.

Brady Althoff, a graduate of Payson Seymour High School, will serve as SGA President. Althoff is pursuing an associate degree in agriculture and fire science at JWCC with long-term goals of becoming a farmer and firefighter. He looks forward to serving as a leader among his fellow Trail Blazers. Althoff is also a Trail Blazer Scholar recipient.

Lizzy Blickhan, a graduate of Quincy Notre Dame High School, was elected SGA Vice President. She will begin nursing school in the fall, working toward her Bachelor of Science in Nursing through Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing and Health Sciences. Blickhan is eager to make a difference in her future career and currently serves on JWCC’s Academic Standing Committee. She is also a Trail Blazer Scholarship recipient.

Colton Coats, a graduate of Bluffs High School, was selected as SGA Treasurer. He is currently completing his associate degree at JWCC and plans to transfer to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville to pursue a career in civil engineering. Coats also serves as a student ambassador and is a Trail Blazer Scholar recipient.

Karlie Barry, a graduate of Camp Point Central High School, will serve as SGA Secretary. She is pursuing a degree in nursing and plans to become a travel nurse specializing in emergency care. After graduating from JWCC, she will continue her education by earning a BSN from Blessing-Rieman. Barry is the recipient of the Presidential Scholarship.


John Wood Community College is the educational link between business and community. JWCC collaboratively creates innovative and relevant academic and training programs with business leaders to educate young people and the workforce for today's needs and tomorrow's opportunities. JWCC has centers in Quincy, Pittsfield, Baylis and Mt. Sterling, Illinois. Programs include a comprehensive baccalaureate transfer curriculum, customized business training, career/technical degrees, certificates, and personal enrichment courses.
