Vice President for Instruction  

John Wood Community College, an educational leader in comprehensive community college education in West Central Illinois, is seeking applications for Vice President for Instruction.

JWCC serves an average enrollment of 2,200 students across nine counties.  For the last four decades, the College has grown and expanded to include a beautiful 150-acre new campus opened in January 2002 in Quincy, Illinois and five campus centers.  The College is thriving through its mission to “enrich lives through learning.”

Ideal qualifications include full-time teaching experience at a community college,comprehensive understanding of academic affairs including instructional technology,academic program development and implementation, history of collaborative and collegial work experience, and success in working effectively with professional team of educators and support staff.

Must have knowledge of and experience with budget planning, budget preparation and fiscal management and a demonstrated understanding of trends, issues and challenges of a comprehensive community college. In addition, candidates should have a demonstrated commitment to the mission and philosophy of the community college, experience in collective bargaining and an understanding of learning communities and their contribution to student growth and success. JWCC is also interested in candidates who bring experience with distance learning programs, assessment and accreditation.

Earned doctorate from an accredited institution is preferred with administrative experience at department chair and dean level.
