Employment Outlook
There are many more nurse assistant jobs available then there are graduates to fill them and Occupational Outlook predicts a 19% increase in the number of job openings into 2018. A well-trained nurse assistant can usually choose location and hours, including part-time at some facilities. JWCC graduates are often recruited by the very clinical site they attended during their course-work and hired before graduation.
A Certified Nurse Assistants is not only employed in nursing homes (long term care), but in hospitals and home health. Locally, CNA positions pay an average of $9.00 per hour and offer medical insurance and other benefits.
