COMMUNITY & CONTINUING EDUCATION POLICIES & REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Registration:  Payment in full must be received before you attend class.  Credit or debit card payments are the easiest and most efficient way to secure your registration. 

Registration Confirmation:  Confirmation of registration will be received in the mail. Confirmation may include a course schedule, account statement and/or other information specific to your class.

Fees:  Fees are payable in full at the time of registration or at least four business days prior to the start of the class.  Some classes will have a supply fee.  Supply fee information will be listed in the class description.  More information about the supplies will be shared upon registration.

Cancellation:  JWCC is a nonprofit organization and noncredit offerings must pay for themselves.  Those interested in a particular class are encouraged to call the JWCC Community Education Office as early as possible to register.  Otherwise, it may be cancelled due to low enrollment.

 Class Locations:  Unless otherwise noted, all classes are held at the JWCC Quincy Campus in the Paul Heath Community Education & Fine Arts Center, 48th & Harrison, Quincy.  This is indicated by placing a “D” in front of the room number (ex. D129).

Minimum or Maximum Enrollment:  Participants will be notified if a course is cancelled (6 or less students in most cases) or if a class is full and additional registrations cannot be entered.  Students will be placed on a waiting list and notified if an opening occurs. 

Refund Policy:  Unless otherwise noted in advance publicity, a student who notifies the Community Education Office two business days prior to the day of the seminar or class will receive a full refund.  If a class is cancelled, a full refund will be issued.  No other refunds will be issued.

Inclement weather:  When JWCC cancels classes due to inclement weather, Community Education classes also will be cancelled.  If classes are cancelled, local radio and TV stations will be notified, a message will be placed on jwcc.edu and an announcement will be recorded on the JWCC Weather Line (217.641.4100).

Accommodations:  Participants with physical disabilities requiring special accommodations should indicate needs when registering.  JWCC will do what it can to meet your needs.

If you attend class without paying in full prior to the class start date, a hold will be placed on your account.  The hold does prevent you from taking any further JWCC courses until the account is paid in full.
