Presidential / Trail Blazer Scholarships
We are looking for the next student leader scholars at JWCC. Presidential and Trail Blazer Scholars are high achieving leaders, both in and out of the classroom. Scholarship students are college ambassadors, participate with Student Government, various JWCC events, and are student leaders on campus.
The Presidential Scholarship is John Wood Community College’s most prestigious award. It recognizes students who show leadership, strong communication skills, and a desire to make a difference. Presidential Scholars serve as ambassadors for JWCC by representing the College in a positive way—on campus, in the community, and among their peers—through engagement, service, and academic excellence.
Trail Blazer Scholarships will be awarded from application materials. Presidential Scholarships are awarded using a two-step process. The top 10 applications will be invited for an interview on campus during March. The top 3 total scores will result in scholarships.
- Trail Blazer Scholarships: 3.0 minimum GPA – half-tuition, 12 awarded each year, renewable for 4 consecutive semesters.
- Presidential Scholarships: 3.5 minimum GPA – full-tuition, 3 awarded each year, renewable for 4 consecutive semesters.
Students must be admitted to JWCC to be considered for the scholarship. Students should submit an admission application and current high school transcript to be admitted.
Students are also required to apply for the FAFSA. Need help? Speak with our Financial Aid office.
Applications are due by March 1, 2026.
