Ballot Position in JWCC Trustee Election Determined by Lottery

 A lottery was held at John Wood Community College Tuesday, December 22, to determine ballot position for the two trustee candidates who filed simultaneously at the opening of the election filing period.  The results are that Paula Hawley’s name will be listed first on the ballot and William (LB) Cornwell’s name will be second.

Hawley and Cornwell both filed simultaneously on Monday, December 14.

Two seats on the Board will be filled in the consolidated election April 6, 2021.  The seats are for two, six-year terms.

The three candidates in order in which their names will appear on the ballot, are Paula Hawley of Griggsville, William (LB) Cornwell of Quincy and Don Hess of Quincy.  Hess is an incumbent, Hawley and Cornwell are challengers.

The filing period ended December 21.

Trustees whose terms are expiring are Jim Gay of Rockport, IL and Don Hess of Quincy, IL.
