Welder wears heavy gear as they craft their material
October 3, 2023

Automation, robotics, truck driver training, electrical, computer-aided design, manufacturing, and welding positions offer household sustaining salaries for those with the right skills, yet regional companies are struggling to find qualified candidates.  John Wood Community College and the Workforce Investment Board of Western Illinois are hoping to train more individuals to meet those needs.

An open house is set for Wednesday, October 4, from 4 to 6 p.m. at JWCC’s Workforce Development Center at 2710 North 42nd street.  Interested individuals are invited to learn about the programs as well as tuition and grant funding that may be for those who qualify. No appointment is necessary for the event.
