The John Wood Community College Foundation is proud to announce the recipients of its prestigious Presidential Scholarship for the 2026–2027 academic year. This privately funded, highly competitive award recognizes outstanding students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and a strong commitment to their future careers and communities.
The 2026–2027 Presidential Scholars are:
Micah Anderson from Brown County High School who plans to a career pathway in agriculture and business.
Corin Robinson from Illini West High School who will enter a marketing career pathway.
Charity Bell, an adult learner who will pursue a second career in nursing.
Anderson, Bell, and Robinson will join this year’s Presidential Scholars Lauren McDowell, Josh Herring, and Abigail Chamberlain as ambassadors for the JWCC Foundation. All support fundraising and alumni outreach efforts as part of their scholarship.
“These students are driven to learn, lead, and make a meaningful impact,” said JWCC Foundation Executive Director Barb Holthaus. “Their diverse experiences and ambitions reflect the strength of our communities and the opportunities that exist through education.”
The Presidential Scholarship is one of JWCC’s highest honors, awarded annually to students who exemplify academic achievement, leadership, and dedication to their chosen field. Recipients receive a scholarship to cover in-district tuition helping remove barriers and create clear pathways to in-demand careers.
