John Wood Community College regrets to announce the departure of Brad Hoyt, who has served as the Dean of Students and Head Men’s Basketball Coach. He will be transitioning to a new role as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Quincy University.

“Brad has been an invaluable member of the JWCC community for more than two decades,” said Dr. Bryan Renfro, President of JWCC. “His leadership and dedication have been instrumental in the success of our students and our athletic programs.”

Hoyt is a valued alumnus of JWCC and has served in a variety of positions in student services during his tenure at the college. He led the Trail Blazers to four NJCAA National Tournament Appearances and holds the record for all-time wins in the men’s basketball program.

“Brad’s impact on JWCC cannot be overstated,” added Dr. Renfro. “His commitment to our students and our mission has been unwavering, and we are grateful for his many contributions. We wish him the best as he will now lead young men at our partner institution at Quincy University.”

In addition to his roles as Dean of Students and Head Men’s Basketball Coach, Hoyt was transitioning out of the role of athletic director at JWCC. The College is beginning the process to search for a Dean of Students and a full-time Men’s Basketball Coach who will assume other college duties.
