Interviews and Community Forums Scheduled for Early December
The John Wood Community College Board of Trustees has identified four individuals from an initial field of 52 for in-person interviews as part of the search for the College’s next president. The community is welcome to attend public forums as part of the interview process in early December. The candidate selected will succeed Dr. Bryan Renfro, who now serves as Chancellor of Eastern Iowa Community Colleges. JWCC’s eighth president is expected to start in early 2026.
The finalists are:
Dr. Michelle Allmendinger
Allmendinger has served as Vice President of Student Affairs at Southeastern Community College in Iowa since 2023. From 2018 to 2023 she served as Dean of Student Development at Clinton Community College. Prior to that role, Allmendinger worked as Athletic Director and Assistant Dean of Students at Scott Community College and as a head women’s tennis and softball coach for six years at the college level. She has been a high school, community college, and university instructor. She holds a Doctorate in Higher Education Administration and is originally from Moline, Illinois.
Dr. Albert Lewis
Lewis most recently served as the Chief of Staff and Executive Vice President at Northwest State Community College in Ohio since 2021. Prior to that role, he served as Vice President for Economic and Workforce Development at Bellevue College in Washington from 2015 to 2021. Lewis has worked as a Dean of Corporate, Community and Continuing Education at Moraine Valley Community College and served as an instructor at the community college and university level. He holds a Doctorate in Education and is originally from Akron, Ohio.
Dr. Jesse Pisors
Pisors most recently served as President of Pasco-Hernando State College in Florida for one year. Prior to that role, he served eight years in Vice Presidential Advancement roles for the University of Houston and Texas A&M University Systems. Dr. Pisors has also been an instructor at middle school, high school, community college, and university levels. He holds a Doctorate in Higher Education Administration and is originally from Woodstock, Illinois.
Dr. Aron Potter
Potter has served as Vice President of Academic Services for Coffeyville Community College in Kansas since 2015. Prior to that role, she was an Assistant Professor and Head Softball Coach at Culver-Stockton College from 2010 to 2015. Dr. Potter has also worked as an instructor and softball coach for University of Central Missouri, Missouri Southern State University, and Coffeyville Community College. She holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and is originally from Vandalia, Missouri.
The Pauly Group search firm hired by the JWCC Board of Trustees is conducting a thorough review of candidates’ background, public profile, and references. The Pauly Group is sharing these review results with the Board of Trustees to aid and inform the Board in its consideration of candidates and decision in the selection of a new President.
John Wood Community College Final Candidate Interview Dates are as follows:
Dr. Albert Lewis: Monday, December 1, 2025 – Community open forum from 1:45 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.
Dr. Jesse Pisors: Tuesday, December 2, 2025 – Community open forum from 1:45 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.
Dr. Aron Potter: Wednesday, December 10, 2025 – Community open forum from 1:45 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.
Dr. Michelle Allmendinger: Thursday, December 11, 2025 – Community open forum from 1:45 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.
All candidates will take part in a public community open forum on the dates and times noted above. The forums will be held in Room D022/23 in the lower level of the Paul Heath Center on the Quincy campus at 1301 South 48th Street.
