Workforce Development Center
October 21, 2020

A “LinkedIn for Business” class will be offered by John Wood Community College Business and Industry Training on Tuesday, November 17, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. The class is open to the public, no application is necessary, but individuals are required to make a reservation to attend.  The class will take place at JWCC’s Workforce Development Center, located at 4220 Kochs Lane in Quincy.

In this 3-hour workshop, participants will learn to transform their profile from a typical résumé into a dynamic sales page that can drive leads for their business. Participants will also learn how to create a profile layout that works as a sales and marketing page, set up LinkedIn to notify their contacts of  latest products and services, place their most popular services so they show up in LinkedIn searches, when and how to use a business page, make posts and create articles, use groups to increase their reach and results, and how to tell if one of LinkedIn’s paid options is right for them. Real world examples will be shared, and participants can follow along live with their own LinkedIn profiles for hands-on experience.

The course will be presented by Andrew Skattebo with BrickStreet Data Systems. Participants will be asked to wear face coverings and social distancing will be maintained. The cost is $50 per person. For more information or to RSVP, contact the Workforce Development Center at 217-641-4971, or email wdc@jwcc.edu.
