JWCC Hosts 36 Colleges and Universities for the Annual Tri-State Regional College Fair

John Wood Community College hosted the Tri-State Regional College Fair on March 17, 2022, in the Student Activity Center, at 48th and Harrison in Quincy. The event was free and open to the public.  The event is hosted in conjunction with Quincy University and area high schools.

The Tri-State Regional College Fair is designed to give high school students the opportunity to learn about a wide array of college options. Representatives from more than 36 colleges from six states were on-hand to meet with over 170 area high school students and their parents who were in attendance.  JWCC courses transfer to any four-year universities, including those participating in the fair.

“This annual event is the perfect opportunity for high school students who are considering college to have immediate access to a variety of colleges and universities,” JWCC Director of Admissions Kristen Ritterbusch shared. “It is important for the students and their parents to do their research, asking questions about costs, programs, application requirements, how credit hours transfer, financial aid and scholarship opportunities. Current Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors have had little to no access to such college fairs, so they were excited to meet with college representative in person.”

Participating colleges and universities:  Blackburn College, Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing and Health Sciences, Bradley University, Columbia College Chicago, Concordia University Chicago, Cornell College, Culver-Stockton College, Drake University, Eastern Illinois University, Fontbonne University, Illinois College, Illinois Institute of Technology, Illinois State University, Illinois Student Assistance Commission, Illinois Wesleyan University, Iowa State University, Iowa Wesleyan University, John Wood Community College, Keiser University, Lincoln College, Maryville University, Midwestern University, Millikin University, Missouri University of Science and Technology, Morrison Tech, North Central College, Northern Illinois University, Quincy University, Rockford University, Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing, Southern Illinois University Carbondale, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, St. Ambrose University, Truman State University, University of California, Riverside, University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis, University of Illinois at Chicago, University of Illinois Springfield, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, University of Missouri–St. Louis, Western Illinois University, William Woods University, and Winona State University.
