John Wood Community College is offering students and the general public an opportunity to learn more about the college process with a free open house on Thursday, October 29 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Quincy campus, located at 1301 S. 48th Street.
“Students looking to attend college may be overwhelmed with the process,” said Kristen Ritterbusch, JWCC director of admissions. “We want to help high school students and adults find the path to their next step.”
JWCC staff will be on hand to answer questions regarding the admissions process, advising and registration for classes, career exploration, Smart Start for high school students, payment options and more. The College will also help students and parents file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Parents will need to bring their 2019 taxes to complete the FAFSA.
“This is a great, safe way to visit campus, whether you are just getting started and have lots of questions, ready to register for spring semester, want to make sure you are ready for next fall, or maybe for some students who are thinking of transferring back to JWCC,” Ritterbusch added.
Campus tours will be offered at the top of every hour during the open house, and visitors can enjoy a free grab and go meal as they leave.
No reservations are necessary to attend. The College will require face masks and social distancing will be observed. For more information, call or text 217-393-8400.
