JWCC to Offer OSHA Workplace Safety Training in November

John Wood Community College Workforce Development Center will offer an OSHA 10 General Industry training class on Wednesday, November 11, and Thursday, November 12, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The two-day class is open to the public, no application is necessary, but individuals are required to make a reservation to attend. It will take place at JWCC’s Workforce Development Center, located at 4220 Kochs Lane in Quincy.

The class will provide information to entry level general industry workers about their rights, employer responsibilities, and how to identify, abate, avoid and prevent job-related hazards on a job site. The course will offer resources and tools to create or enhance an effective safety and health management system, a review of the OSHA Act, and highlight many key general industry safety and health standards.  Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive an OSHA 10-Hour General Industry completion card. The program will be presented by an OSHA Outreach Authorized Trainer.

The cost of the course is $175 per person, and students should register a minimum of two business days prior to the class. Participants will be required to wear face coverings and social distancing will be maintained. To register, call JWCC at 217.641.4971, or email wdc@jwcc.edu.
