JWCC to Present Holiday Concert December 3

Audiences will be treated to a wide variety of vocal and instrumental selections performed by talented area students at John Wood Community College’s Fine Arts Department Holiday Music Concert.  The annual event is set for Friday, December 3 at 7:00 p.m. in the JWCC Paul Heath Center Mary Ellen Orr Auditorium on the Quincy campus at 48th and Harrison.

JWCC’s Concert Choir, Band and Vocal Show Ensemble will provide a showcase to appeal to all ages.  The choir and band will perform new holiday compositions as well as arrangements of traditional favorites. The vocal show will perform musical selections from Broadway shows and the band will also perform seasonal music.  The show will culminate with all groups performing together in a single piece.

Students are admitted free of charge.  Monetary donations will be accepted at the door event night with the proceeds going to support the groups’ tours.

The concert choir and vocal show ensemble are under the direction of Dr. Steven Soebbing, JWCC instructor of music and theatre. The band is under the direction of Jessica Achelpohl Snider.
