Truck Driver Training Program Hosting an Open House March 14

New federal regulations regarding obtaining a CDL took effect in early February. The Truck Driver Training Program at John Wood Community College will host an open house on Monday, March 14, at 6:30 p.m. at the Workforce Development Center, 4220 Kochs Lane, Quincy. During this open house, representatives will share how the program has responded to these changes by revising its training. Admission requirements, scholarships/funding options, and career opportunities in the trucking industry will be discussed. Attendees will also learn about a 16-credit hour, financial-aid eligible, Logistics/Truck Driver Training certificate.

The program uses industry standard equipment as teaching tools. Class A CDL drivers are in unprecedented demand. Students in the program will be actively recruited by numerous trucking companies, representing both local and national firms. Some employers may fund tuition costs.

The open house is free and open to the public.

The next class starts Monday, April 4. For information, contact the Truck Driver Training program, 217.641.4971, 217.641.4914, or visit www.jwcc.edu/truck.
