All Illinois employers will be affected by several new acts which took place January 1. These acts include the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act, the Workplace Transparency Act (WTA), and the Illinois Human Rights Act (IHRA). The WTA applies to all employment documents, including non-compete agreements and confidentiality agreements. The IHRA deals with sexual harassment, victim representation, victim economic security, and safety. Join the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association and John Wood Community College to hear Brian Wacker walk attendees through these new laws and discuss how they can impact policy, practice and training. Attendees will learn the legal risks that now come with enforcing a drug free workplace and will receive content to utilize in employee training.
