A 22 ft. diameter Indian tipi will serve as our classroom for the week. Students will learn about the daily life of Native Americans, sacred plants, and spiritual practices, including making a medicine bag and a session on the importance of drumming, dancing, and singing. Students will get to participate in a drumming session! Students will also explore native hunting practices and get a chance to throw an Atlatl. On the last day, we will discuss Native experiences with the Indian boarding schools and make Indian fry bread. This class is made possible through a partnership with River Eagle Council.
