Job Description

This is a full-time, nine-month, tenure track, bargaining unit position that reports to the Director of Allied Health Sciences & EMS. 

 

As a lead faculty member and coordinator of the Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) program, this position assumes responsibility for ensuring compliance with Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) requirements. Serving as the coordinator, the lead faculty member conducts & manages the logistics of classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction, including clinical sites. Responsibilities also extend to planning and implementing competency testing submissions.

 

The role involves active involvement in recruitment and marketing for the Certified Nurse Assistant program. This will require travel to other campuses, high schools, job fairs, community organizations, or other to recruit and market the program. The coordinator plays a crucial role in monitoring policy compliance at contracted clinical sites, ensuring the preservation of patient rights while adhering to FERPA, HIPAA, and all regulatory mandates. Completion and submission of all necessary documentation, as required by IDPH, fall within the coordinator’s purview.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate possesses a master’s degree in nursing. Consideration will be given to applicants with a bachelor’s degree in nursing, provided they commit to completing ongoing education in the nursing field. Candidates must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in Illinois, with a minimum of two years’ experience in clinical nursing practice. Certification by IDPH to teach CNA courses is mandatory, and prior teaching experience is highly desirable. A strong commitment to the mission and philosophy of the College, coupled with excellent leadership, time management, communication, and collaboration skills, is essential.

 

SALARY

Commensurate with qualifications and CBA.
