Job Description

• Be a United States citizen
• Have no felony convictions
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Have a valid social security number
• Be 21 years of age, but not older than 34 years of age by the time of appointment, unless exempt by statute
• Must have a valid CPAT and Ladder Climb at the time of application issued within 1 year of the application due date. (05/10/2023 – 05/10/2024).
  • MABAS, NIPSTA (www.nipstorg) and Naperville FD are three agencies that conduct the CPAT/Ladder Climb. Please see their websites for information about the test and to register for a testing date.
• Possess a valid Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) or National Paramedic license by time of appointment
  • Applicants not currently in possession of their paramedic license may participate in testing process if they are in possession of a valid EMT – B (Basic) license
• Able to successfully test into the Good Samaritan EMS System at time of appointment.
