Job Description

Firefighter/Paramedic Minimum Requirements:

• $30.00 non-refundable application fee. *
• U.S. Citizen.
• At least 21 years of age by the date of application deadline and not older than 35 by date of appointment, unless exempt by statute.
• No felony convictions.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Present a valid CPAT with Ladder Climb – [No more than 12 months old] by date of application deadline. Must be dated 5/10/2023 – 5/10/2024. Must also be valid at the date of conditional offer of employment.
• Possess a valid IDPH Paramedic license (EMT-P) due at time of hire.
  • Candidates may be required to show proof of enrollment in a paramedic program or a letter of status and good standing to the Department at a later date.
