WCI Nutrition Project
Our kitchen is headquarters for Meals on Wheels and much more. We serve 6 counties in the surrounding area, along with our own supportive living facility at the senior center. Our kitchen also does caterings for large and small parties.
Participate in all areas of food production. Review production schedule to determine menu requirements, including variety and quantity of food for production. Assemble supplies and equipment needed for daily preparation activities. Help to control food cost.
Food preparation – learn how to wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit, proper technic for cutting meats.
Learn serving portions within Nutrition guidelines.
Learn to properly store food in designated areas (wrapping, dating and rotating)
Gain the ability to work safely with all kitchen equipment (slicer, large mixer, and convection ovens)
Learn how to serve and package bulk food for county delivery and how to serve and package home delivered meals for county and Quincy delivery.
Serve customers on first or fourth floors friendly and efficiently.
This is a great position for someone that loves to cook, is organized, reliable, and communicates well with those in the kitchen.
The job is a full time position. Some weekends required. Insurance, 401K matching, paid time off, and other benefits apply.
