Job Description

Position Summary: 

Under the direct supervision of a Resource designee (i.e. Physician, dentist, podiatrist and/or RN, provides practical nursing care for patients following established standards and practices.  Performs treatments and procedures within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act of Illinois.  Updates RN with timely information regarding status of patient in compliance with Patient Services Department policy and other regulatory agency requirements.  Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental and divisional nursing philosophy and objectives, as well as, Health System initiatives.

 

Education/Training:

Graduate from an approved licensed practical school of nursing

 

Licensure/Certification:

Current LPN license to practice in the State of Illinois.  Bi-Annual CPR certification required

 

Experience/Skills/Abilities:

Successful completion of annual clinical, age and job specific competencies and skill verification tools required.  Excellent verbal, written organizational and critical decision-making skills required.  Good interpersonal skills and ability to deal with all levels within the organization and community under varied conditions.  Ability to provide exceptional customer service to all customers of the organization.
