Job Title: OPERATING ROOM TECHNICIAN

Job Summary:

Responsible for assisting in the implementation of delegated patient care activities and preparation of the surgical patient under the direct supervision of the perioperative registered nurse.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

1. Assists the surgeon as a scrub technician and is prepared with the proper equipment and instruments for the procedure.
2. Assists the circulating nurse as needed.
3. Assists in housekeeping duties of the department as directed to ensure safe patient environment.
4. Assists in the transportation of surgical patients to and from the surgical suite as needed.
5. Assists in maintenance, care and processing of surgical instruments, equipment and supplies.
6. Responsible to take “leave word” hours for the surgery department in case of emergencies on off hours.
7. Assists in the surgery scheduling process for the department.

Job Specifications: 

Education Requirements:

1. Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technologists preferred.
2. Current BLS certification.

Hours: Full-Time – Monday through Friday,7am-3pm – On call every third weekend
