Job Summary:

The Clinic Nursing Team Coordinator in collaboration with the Clinic Nursing Director coordinates scheduling for clinical team members. The Clinic Nursing Team Coordinator supports the clinical team in ensuring compassionate, effective and efficient delivery of high-quality care for our community while serving as a champion for quality and service excellence and acts as a role model for all clinic staff.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinates with Clinic Nursing Director on development of weekly clinical team schedule and coverage for clinical team call-ins
  2. Approves vacation requests of clinical team members and ensures adequate clinical team coverage for providers
  3. Acts as a resource for other team members and provides them with resources and best practices
  4. Acts as a mentor for new clinic employees to improve employee confidence and ensure competence
  5. Leads regular huddle communications with clinic teams
  6. Completes monthly CLIA lab reviews
  7. Acts as a bridge between Clinic Administration and staff by communicating any issues or concerns from staff back to Clinic Admin Team and relaying updates and reminders from Clinic Admin Team to staff.
  8. Monitors patient flow and daily performance of outlying clinic team members to ensure duties are completed accurately, efficiently and timely.
  9. Works as a float nurse when necessary
  10. Maintains adequate supplies
  11. Performs audits as assigned by Clinic Administration, such as hand hygiene audits, medication expiration dates, POCT testing processes, rooming and discharge checklists
  12. Actively participates in annual competency skills validation
  13. Participates in Rural Health Clinic & Joint Commission mock surveys with team members
  14. Provides coaching to assist with staff growth and development including active participation in staff annual evaluations
  15. Coordinates with Administrative Assistant and Clinic Nursing Director on biweekly payroll needs for clinical staff
  16. Reviews and evaluates reports such as patient satisfaction surveys, quality reports, budget reports and other information with the Executive Director of Clinic Operations and helps to coordinate quality improvement and patient satisfaction activities concerning the care of patients, health and safety conditions and equipment to improve quality and utilization of health care services at all MMC sites.
  17. Resolves staff or provider office issues when needed with the assistance of the MMC Executive Director of Clinic Operations.
  18. Helps Executive Director of Clinic Operations develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health care services.
  19. Resolves staff or provider office issues when needed with the assistance of the Executive Director of Clinic Operations.
  20. Communicates provider or staff questions or concerns about operations, administration, strategic priorities, and/or any other items outside of the Clinic Nursing Team Coordinator’s scope to Executive Director of Clinic Operations or Chief Medical Officer.
