Job Description
CM&W is looking for a Drafter at our Hannibal, MO location. The Drafter is responsible for producing and maintaining product drawings and plans to produce fabricated sheet metal parts according to customer and company specifications. Pay starting at $21.00/hour.
What You’ll Do:
- Use Computer Aided Design and Drafting systems (SolidWorks) to successfully produce technical drawings and blueprints used to build a variety of fabricated sheet metal parts.
- Assist shop workers when there is a need for additional instructions on the drawings.
- Create and adjust DXF files for sheet metal laser cutting.
- Maintain and store all technical drawings and their revisions in an organized electronic library.
- Understand and translate information provided by customer drawings, specifications, and verbal direction into fabrication requirements including part tolerances, critical dimensions, and cosmetic and finishing standards.
- Incorporate lessons learned to improve production techniques and efficiencies.
What You’ll Need:
- Associate or Technical Drafting degree or relevant experience.
- 1-3 years of drafting experience, preferably in a sheet metal manufacturing environment.
- Proficient computer knowledge: CAD software, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software, and Microsoft Suite.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Ability to compute mathematical formulas needed to develop design specifications.
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills, along with attention to detail.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent customer service skills and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
