Register Supervisor

Reports to: Store Manager, Assistant Manager

Classification:  Non-Exempt / Hourly

 

JOB SUMMARY:

To provide the best front-end service as possible and to support Farm & Home Supply in every aspect of the business and uphold the Gold Standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. To provide Customers with outstanding service through friendly, quick and efficient assistance. Eliminate customers waiting in long lines by calling for additional cashiers and carry outs when needed.
  2. Operating handheld Telxon and maintaining inventory accuracy.
  3. Ensuring a safe and clean work environment while following loss prevention and safety procedures. Control shrink and theft by monitoring customer purchases when exiting the store.
  4. Attending store and job-related meetings along with completion of required Outfitter trainings.
  5. Assists with new-hire register training to ensure each cashier thoroughly understands how important it is to maintain accurate cash register operations.
  6. Following all applicable Company, local, state and federal guidelines.
  7. Ensuring that the front end has sufficient supplies to complete assigned duties, such as bags, boxes, etc. and retrieving shopping carts as needed.
  8. Approve checks, item edits, returns, Gift Cards, Private label credit cards applications and exchanges from employees and customers.
  9. Must be able to delegate and ensure cashiers are staying busy at all times.
  10. Schedule all meal periods and breaks for cashiers.
  11. Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
  12. Weight lifting capability up to and including 50 lbs.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Completes special projects directed by management and additional responsibilities may be assigned throughout the store at any given time.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. Minimum Age requirement is 16 years old.
  2. Must possess great customer service, communication skills and ability to operate F&H cash registers.
  3. Positive attitude with a passion for collaborating with Team Members that want to grow.
