An internship is an ideal opportunity for a JWCC student to experience a prospective career path and earn college credit. Students can gain practical experience by applying methods and theories learned in the classroom. Exploring is an important part of the academic process and this is one way to develop and refine skills.
Internships can be paid or unpaid and range from 80 – 320 hours on the job. Career Services will help connect you with potential internship opportunities in your area of study.

What JWCC students have to say…
Thanks to all of my experiences at JWCC I was able to get an internship as an engineer at Knapheide. This internship has been an excellent opportunity for me offering all kinds of on the job training and providing me with any experience I would need for the future. Because of this this, I was able to get a design drafter job for the long term and am truly enjoying the experience here.
Associate in Applied Science, Manufacturing Technology
My internship gave me good insight to what the field I was studying had to offer. Not only did it give me a chance to practice what I had learned, it also gave me a chance to gain a little experience, ultimately landing a job at the place I was interning. Great all around experience!
Associate in Applied Science, Accounting
So far in my internship, I have learned a lot. I think I am better prepared to transfer to a 4-year university. I also already have a much clearer idea of what I want to do with my degree after I graduate.
