Application Steps

1. A completed Upward Bound Program Application includes:

• Student Form
• Parent Form
• School Staff Form
• Records Release Form

2. Student & Parent(s) Complete an Interview with the Supervisor and Advisor. Upon receiving a completed Upward Bound Application, the parent(s) will be contacted to schedule the interview.

Eligibility Requirements

Selection of Upward Bound Participants will be based on the applicant’s:

• Status as a First Generation College-bound Student {neither parent has earned a bachelor’s degree (four-year) degree} AND/OR their family’s income does not exceed the guidelines determined by the U.S. Department of Education AND/OR the student is at a high risk for academic failure
• Motivation to Participate
• Academic Needs & Potential
• Teacher & Counselor Recommendations
• Has Completed the 8th Grade but has not yet entered the 12th Grade

Application to the program does not guarantee admission. However, eligible students who are not selected due to space limitations will be placed on a waiting list.
