John Wood Community College Business and Industry Training is offering two professional development classes – Local Business Boost: Digital Marketing Essentials and DIY Video Marketing: Small Business Edition. Both classes are open to the public, no application is necessary, but individuals are required to make a reservation to attend. The classes will take place at JWCC’s Workforce Development Center, 2710 North 42nd Street, Quincy.

Does your small business struggle to stay in front of potential customers and rise above the noise online? Do you rely heavily on word-of-mouth referrals and wonder how to encourage and improve your results? Frustrated with social media? Wish you could reduce ad spend while increasing your exposure and sales? Digital Marketing Essentials will show you how to use free and low-cost online tools and services to showcase your local business, attract customers ready to buy, and improve your referrals. Digital Marketing Essentials will be held Tuesday, March 5, from 9a.m. to noon. The cost is $65 per person.

Designed for the busy small business owner or marketer and based on real-world examples, DIY Video Marketing arms you with tips and techniques to shoot, edit, and distribute engaging videos. We’ll help you leverage your smartphone, discover affordable gear and demo essential filming and editing tools. If you would like to use more video on your website or social media but aren’t sure where to start, this workshop is for you. DIY Video Marketing will be held Tuesday, March 26, from 9am to noon. The cost is $75 per person.

Andrew Skattebo with BrickStreet Digital will present both classes. For more information on these classes or to register, contact the Workforce Development Center at 217-641-4971, or visit www.jwcc.edu/programs/workforce.
