  JWCC Providing Free GED Prep Classes in Quincy, Camp Point, Mt. Sterling and Pittsfield

 John Wood Community College continues to offer free General Education Development (GED) preparation classes in Quincy, Camp Point, Mt. Sterling and Pittsfield. The classes are offered through the JWCC Adult Education program, which helps students prepare for the high school equivalency GED test and improve basic reading and math skills.

The program also assists with career planning, job skills and transitioning to college. Test takers passing the GED test receive a State of Illinois High School diploma.

GED classes are free and offered in-person or online.

In-person classes are held in Quincy on Mondays through Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to noon or Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Quincy campus, 1301 S 48th Street, Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to noon at Bella Ease, 707 Broadway Street and Wednesday afternoons from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Quincy Public Library, 526 Jersey.

Camp Point classes meet on Tuesday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the First Christian Church, 210 S. Ohio St, Camp Point. Pittsfield classes meet from 9:00 a.m. to noon on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Southeast Education Center at 39637 260th Street.  In Mt. Sterling, classes meet from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesdays at the Mt. Sterling Education Center at 108 N. Capitol Street.

English as a Second Language (ESL) classes meet in-person on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the Quincy campus, 1301 S 48th Street and Monday evenings from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Southeast Education Center in Pittsfield.
