Prerequisite: Garage Welding
This is a continuation of Garage Welding. In Garage Welding, you learned the basics of Innershield, flux-core arc and short-arc welding, and how to set voltage and wire speeds. In Advanced Garage Welding, you will learn to use a Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welder and perform horizontal, vertical, and downhill welding, including the proper technique to fill in gaps between two pieces of metal. This class will be held at the Workforce Development Center, 4220 Koch’s Lane, Quincy.
Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – Please bring welding gloves and dress appropriately (long pants, long-sleeved shirts, and leather shoes or boots).
